Thereforeā„¢ Help

The preprocessor is an optional step used where the input file is not a standard Windows ASCII text file. The preprocessor recognizes control characters in the file and emulates the normal print controller functionality. It creates an identical image of the document as if it were printed on an actual printer.

Very simple ASCII test files can be processed by a generic preprocessor; other, more complex output streams like AS400 spools have to be preprocessed by a special pre-processing DLL.

Pre-processor DLLs

We have created a DLL for AS400 spools (contact your local Canon representative). This can then be tested with a sample file. We recommend you analyze the content of the file to make sure that the AS400 output was exported properly with its printing codes, in order to be able to de-compress the content and to emulate the line printer properly.
