Thereforeā„¢ Help

A column from a Thereforeā„¢ Table Field can be linked directly to a Content Control or Form Field.

In the following screenshot the column ā€˜ItemNoā€™ is mapped to the Content Control ā€˜ItemNoā€™:

In the case of Excel templates, a cell-range needs to be specified to indicate to Thereforeā„¢ that each value should be written in a separate cell. A range can either be named or specified as follows: ā€œB4:B6ā€.

For Microsoft Word templates, the Content Control or Form Field needs to be placed inside a table to indicate to Thereforeā„¢ that each value should be written in a separate table row.

If there are more values than empty rows, Thereforeā„¢ will create a new empty row and copy the Content Control or Form Field.

As long as there are empty table cells available, no new rows will be generated. If a table cell which is not empty already exists below, a new row is created in-between. In that case, the existing values are shifted down.

Thereforeā„¢ will generate as many rows as are required. The values are always inserted vertically. This means, they will always be written into the next row and not into the next column.

If the Content Control or Form Field is not placed inside a table cell, all array values will be inserted into that one field as a comma-separated string.
