Therefore™ Online customers should be able to have a Workflow task that can execute custom code, similar to the ‘Call DLL’ task. The ‘Call DLL’ task cannot be used in Therefore™ Online to execute user-generated code for security reasons (executing unknown code on the machine running the server service).

The new ‘Call Function’ task allows the execution of customer code, similar to the ‘Call DLL’ task, with the important difference that the function is called using an HTTPS request. This way, nothing is executed directly on the server machine, as the function needs to be hosted as a web service.
