The Thereforeâ„¢ Upgrade Utility for Canon iW Document Manager (iWDM) gives customers a way to move their documents from iWDM to Thereforeâ„¢. The utility allows users to export all documents from a cabinet (in XML + document format). Using the Thereforeâ„¢ Document Loader, the documents can then be imported into Thereforeâ„¢. The standard procedure is:
1.Documents are exported from iWDM with the upgrade utility. The cabinet is searched systematically for documents, which are then exported in the iWDM tree structure. Exportable properties for each document are written to an XML file (only index data fields which are filled in are exported).
2.A Thereforeâ„¢ category, which will receive the documents from iWDM, is defined.
3.An appropriate Thereforeâ„¢ Document Loader Profile is defined.
4.The Thereforeâ„¢ Document Loader is used to the load documents into Thereforeâ„¢.

•Binder documents can be exported from iWDM and will appear in Thereforeâ„¢ as compound files: effectively resulting in no change for the user. •Once imported into Thereforeâ„¢, the tree structure is not maintained, meaning that users need to adapt their way of thinking. However, during export, index data can be exported from the various iWDM sub-folders. |
