Configuration of the Crawler (from Web Parts) |

1.Go to Central Administration then Application Management and then under Thereforeā¢ click on Configure Thereforeā¢ Crawler settings. Choose Create New Profile.
2.Define site collection for which the crawler should be used. In order to use a profile for crawling, the profile needs to be enabled first. Specify crawler options. The following options can be set: Crawler Direction, Operation Mode, Version Handling

Click Next button to continue with configuration.

For Operation Mode ReplaceWithLink Link to a Document content type needs to be enabled for a SharePoint site. For more details refer to SharePoint documentation. |
3.Go to Windows Services and browse for the service Thereforeā¢ Crawler for Microsoft SharePoint
4.Change the account which is used to log on.

•Depending on the usage of Microsoft SharePoint Server and Thereforeā¢ Server account that is used needs to have read/write permissions in SharePoint and Thereforeā¢ |
5.Start Thereforeā¢ Crawler Service.
6.Specify matching between SharePoint metadata fields and Thereforeā¢ index data fields. If needed Query Statement and Update Statement can be configured. Query Statement is used to distinguish which documents are going to be processed by the crawler. Update Statement is used to update documents that have already been saved by the crawler.
