Group and user names:
Users and groups can be added and removed.
Permissions can be allowed and denied.
Read
Allows users to view the index data field. By default It is inherited from the View in hit-list permission in the Read permission set.
Set
Allows this index field to be set when saving new documents. By default It is inherited from the Add documents permission in the Write permission set. Adding a new row for table fields also requires the 'set' permission.
Change
Allows users to edit this index field. By default It is inherited from the Update index data permission in the Write permission set.
Set permissions
When allowed the user/group can modify the security settings for this object.
Inherit permissions from the parent object
Permissions will be inherited from the category or case definition.
