Registry Key Configuration

Per default, the crawler is processing one profile at a time. In case a lot of profiles are to be processed, this setting can be used to specify how many profiles are to be processed in parallel. In case of multi-server or multi-tenant systems, it is highly recommended to specify a value, for smaller systems, the default should suffice. The value can be set using this key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Therefore\SharePoint\CrawlerThreads

To get the best performance, re-adjusting the value might be required. As a starting point, the number of profiles that are to be processed could be specified.

Note

Setting high values does not necessarily give the best performance, because the more is done in parallel, the more work-load is caused on the system and system resources are limited.
