Folders can be created and nested to help organize the categories into logical groups and provide an easy to understand, hierarchical grouping of categories. Another use for a folder would be to define permissions for multiple categories. By setting all categories in the folder to Inherit permissions from the parent object, only the folder permissions need to be set and not each category individually.
How do I create folders?
1.Expand the Design section. Right-click your mouse on the Repository object. Select the New Folder item from the pop-up menu.
2.Give the folder an intuitive name.
3.Categories can be moved to a folder using standard drag and drop techniques.

Permissions can be set for this folder which will then be transferred to all categories contained in the folder; assuming that Inherit permissions from the parent object (default) is selected.
