Similar to the Cash Flow Statement category, this category can be used to store profit-and-loss statements.
As a P&L statement refers to a period of time, it might be beneficial to add a keyword dictionary field to specify this. One possibility is to add the keyword field Period, as used in the Balance Sheet category.
A few points to keep in mind with this category:
Name – This is a free text field. The yellow highlighting indicates that it is a mandatory field. This means the field requires a value to be entered in order to save the document.
Division – By default, this is a free text field. However, it’s possible to restrict the entries available by replacing this with a new keyword dictionary field. This gives you greater control of the entries that can be selected, making it easier down the line to sort and categorize different types of documents.
